Will not be updating my blog until the above 2 are settled.
I'd been to Bali twice, once a company trip and the other joining a tour, and everything had been organised so I didn't have to plan for anything. This time, we are going on our own, and it's Zara's first trip overseas so I'll have to plan well. If you have recently been to Bali and have some hotels, restaurants or locations to recommend for a visit, please drop me a comment.
Hope blogging will resume next week.
What's your budget? My friend stayed in Melia Bali, he said not bad.
ReplyDeleteLucky Zara.. !! good mummy..!
ReplyDeleteHaven't been to Bali for donkey years..so can't help you there..!
wow, zara going to bali wor...have fun ya!
ReplyDeleteoh...we plan to go Bali year end too...to spend Ethyl's 2nd bday! :)
ReplyDeleteDo share abit more on the sourcing part too! :)
definitely Ubud for all its culture, carvings and handicraft!! went there too on a company trip a few years ago. there's this spa (I forgot which) that required us to strip down to just bare skin. it was quite... errr... an experience.
ReplyDeletelike michelle's comment, we stayed at Melia as well. but it's a little far from Ubud, so you would have to hitch a pretty long ride.
Never even been to Indonesia!! Can't help you *bawwl* ~ So the Drama... *bare skin?*
ReplyDeletewow so syiok gong bali huh. Never been there, but hubbby says if u go there, sit on the left side so that u can see beautiful view ;).
ReplyDeletei heard bb clothes are cheap there, so get ready ur cash :)
everyone i know is going to bali! i'll be there too, on good fri weekend. am staying in ubud.
ReplyDeletedepends on ur preference for location and budget:
kuta - fun and parties but i personally don't like it. not relaxing. nusa dua/jimbaran - luxury beach resorts. seminyak - quaint, lots of cafes and lil stores. has lots of villas. i stayed there once - loved it. ubud - art and culture, mountains, padi fields. very far from airport tho.
if u want a villa accomodation, which is great if u have a kid, check out
www.bali-preferredvillas.com
u can pick by location and price range. i used it myself to search but got a friend to book my villa in the end because she had special rates.
My recommendation is to stay up at Ubud. Ubud has a good mix of everything and I feel it's better for a family with a small toddler. I hope it hasn't changed that much because it's been quite a while since I've been there.
ReplyDeleteAccomodations wise, I can't recommend cos last time I did the trip on a shoestring. But you should be able to find something nice with the upmarket hotels.
So exciting!
ohhh...forgot to mention that u should check out (depends on where u stay in the end):
ReplyDeleteKu De Ta - in Seminyak. Nice bar/restaurant, sea front. You can have drinks whilst watching the sunset
Bebek Bengil - in Ubud. This is supposedly the famous Bali duck dish
Kafe Warisan - in Kerobokan. French.
Oooh! That'll give ya some good blogging material. Will stay out of the way then.
ReplyDeleteholidaying already??? aahhh....little zara is so blessed!
ReplyDeletebeen to Bali many years ago, but can't remember what is the resort name already. the resort is quite nice, or can stay most of the hotel/resort in bali are quite nice.
